1. Water repellent treatment of plaster
BLUESIL WR 68 is added to the water to be mixed with the plaster preparation. Good water repellent properties are obtained by adding 0.2 to 0.5 % BLUESIL WR 68 relative to the plaster powder. The quantity of water repellent varies according to the grade of plaster and the plaster-water mixing ratio. Adding BLUESIL WR 68 to the plaster enables water absorption to be limited to values less than those set in current European standards.
2. Treating fillers
In this case BLUESIL WR 68 is used on its own, or for example with 3 % of glycol tetraoctylene titanate. Polymerisation takes place at room temperature. It may be accelerated by heating for a few minutes at .
Comments: Do not bring near potash or caustic soda or any other alkaline compound. There is a risk of a violent release of highly inflammable products.
Similarly, do not use in the presence of alcohols (or solvents containing a significant proportion of them) or other components containing reactive hydrogen atoms (SH, OH…) since hydrogen release may again occur.
