Launched by Bluestar Silicones, Silicones Class Program is designed to offer children the opportunity to learn the knowledge of silicone chemistry and participate in hands-on experiments. Today, Bluestar Silicones Shanghai R&D Center welcomes the nine kids from Shanghai World Foreign Language Middles School to join Silicones Class following the successful organization of 2nd Silicones Class in June by Bluestar Silicones global headquarters in France.
Nine Chinese children on their 2016 summer vacations discover the silicones chemistry at the Silicones Class in Bluestar Silicones Shanghai R&D Center. The class covers the theoretical part of silicone chemistry, delivered by Richard Li, Asia Pacific R&D Manager, and the practical part of experiments conducted by students themselves in the laboratory under the guidance of Shanghai technical experts.
From the origin of silicones to the daily applications, the magic materials have the children interest on further discovery in their life. They have more fun on the lively and interactive experiment sessions focusing on a variety of silicones applications in our daily life.
"The Chinese children normally learn chemistry from book in the school without notice of its application in our daily life. Through the experiments closely linked with daily life, the Silicones Class aims to arouse the children curiosity for natural chemistry, so that they can develop an interest in science and exploration from an early age." says Richard Li, "on the other hand, children are our future, and the sustainable development could be enhanced by next generation through their innovative solutions. At Silicones Class, we inspire them to discover the possibilities of using different silicones applications to eliminate as much as possible the effect of chemistry pollution to the planet and developing better practical solutions in environmental protection, while satisfying the life needs of human being to chemical products."
Silicones Class in Shanghai will be held every summer vacation, we will continuously let kids learn about silicones chemistry through a practical perspective.
