Elkem Silicones will be exhibiting at the upcoming Medica / Compamed tradeshow in Messe Dusseldorf, from November 12th to November 15th. Present in Hall 8b, stand C25, the company will introduce its latest medical-grade Silbione ® silicone solutions for the Healthcare industry in Long term implantation, Wound dressings and 3D printing silicone solutions.
Silbione® Biomedical ADH1 M200 is the 1rst tin-free long-term implantable silicone curable adhesive on the market. Designed to provide strong cohesive bonding to a variety of substrates, it offers significant productivity improvement and simplification in the manufacturing process because of fast cure without the need for heating and excess humidity.
As all Silbione® Biomedical references, which already include LSRs and HCRs, it is manufactured in our state-of-the-art manufacturing site in York, SC, USA, which includes a certified ISO class 8 manufacturing environment and an ISO class 7 packaging environment, and it is supported by material attestations, toxicological summaries, and letters referencing our Master Access Files (MAF) filed with US FDA by our on-staff toxicologists.
In the field of Advanced Woundcare, Elkem Silicones and its trusted partner Zodiac Coating are now launching a range of new Soft adhesive solutions with Antimicrobial properties. Both companies worked hand in hand to integrate active silver ions in the Soft Skin Adhesive layer, bringing the antimicrobial effect to the wound and its border, for the 1rst time with no compromise on the performance of the adhesive and of the layer.
More information about this innovative technology can be found on Zodiac Coating Medica / Compamed booth, Hall 8b, stand F10.
Elkem has also successfully demonstrated 3D printing with their medical-grade, long-term implant validated LSRs. This enables rapid prototyping, and makes it possible to enhance device physical properties through design, printing hollow scaffolds to increase elasticity, strength and decrease weight per part. Moreover, it introduces the possibility of patient-specific, soft devices of the highest biocompatibility and quality. Elkem 3D printing experts will be present during the show.
Elkem is proud to supply advanced soft materials of the highest quality to the Healthcare industry. Not only do they offer these materials, but also innovative solutions, expertise, and services to device makers, designers and fabricators.
