Elkem Silicones to feature UV silicone release coatings for narrow web printing at printThink Summit 2019

Elkem Silicones will showcase its Silcolease™ UV line of silicone release coatings for narrow web printing at the printThink Summit at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Chicago, Ill. from Sept. 12-13.

Silcolease™ UV curing technology offers on-press release coatings and varnishes to be applied in strips, patterns, or as a full web release coating.  These coatings are designed to cure quickly by traditional arc lamps in a single station.  They are ideal for extended content labels, integrated labels, lift tabs, linerless, direct thermal, and thermal transfer type applications.

Silcolease™ UV 100-series features silicones with a free radical curing mechanism that provides fast cure and first-rate anchorage behavior on almost any surface. Release ranges from very easy premium release force for automated label applications to medium and high release force for hand apply applications, as well as high speed thin matrix removal during converting.

Silcolease™ UV 200-series features silicones with a cationic curing mechanism that allows for fast cure, and with minimal interactions with typical ink systems.  With a variety of release ranges from easy to medium release, these release coatings offer a variety of solutions without the need for nitrogen blankets.

Formulations are available as multiple component systems for the easy adjustment of performance for each application, or as single component premixed systems for ease of use by operators.
