Elkem Silicones will be exhibiting at the upcoming Medica / Compamed tradeshow, from November 13th to November 16th. Present in stand C25, Hall 8b, the company will introduce its latest silicone solutions for the Healthcare industry.

Bluestar Silicones is now Elkem Silicones, consolidating its status of a leading silicone supplier with a long-term commitment to the healthcare market, backed by investment in assets and people all over the world. The company will be showcasing at Compamed its full spectrum of Silbione® medical-grade silicones for Healthcare & Biomedical applications.

Silbione® Biomedical silicones for long-term implantation offer outstanding physicals and lot-to-lot consistency, optimizing product design in an easy-to-process formulation. The company now offers new Heat Cure Rubber silicones (HCRs) validated for compression and extrusion processes and backed by regulatory files supporting their use for over 30 days in the body. These materials are designed to be used in applications such as hydrocephalus shunts, central catheters & active implantable devices. They are produced and packaged in certified and accredited ISO 8 and ISO 7 clean rooms.

Elkem Silicones will present its range of Silbione® Soft Skin Adhesives, biocompatible gels providing a gentle & non-irritating adhesion to skin. Widely used in Advanced Wound Care applications, Silbione® Soft Skin Adhesives now enable a better healing for all consumers with sensitive skin when using first aid bandages.

As the medical industry is pivoting towards individualized and remote patient care, Elkem silicones is developing a range of adapted solutions including wearable devices fixation, drug eluting devices, and 3D printing.

"We are very excited to be part of key initiatives aiming to improve global health by increasing treatment observance and reducing side effects." says Bertrand Bordes, Global market manager.
