BLUESIL TCS 7671 WHT

BLUESIL™ TCS 7671 WHT Base is catalyzed with BLUESIL™ TCS 7600 CATA. The system is a two-component polyaddition heat cured liquid silicone elastomer.  This product is well suited for producing print pastes to screen print silicone on to textiles. All products from the Textile Coating System product line are specially engineered for textile coating applications.

Mixing:  TCS 7600 CATALYST must be blended with TCS 7671 WHT BASE to promote crosslinking of the silicone elastomer. The recommended mix ratio is 10:1 by weight.  When mixing by hand, place material under vacuum (3-5 kPa) to remove excess air entrapment. Static mixing equipment can be utilized to ensure uniform mix and prevent formation of bubbles.

Cure:  The catalyzed product has a work life greater than 16 hours at ambient conditions. The best practice is to use mixed material within 8 to 10 hours.  Heat is required to accelerate cure of the system.  The product will flash cure within several seconds.  Time to achieve a complete cure is dependent on the following factors:  temperature, coat weight or print thickness, addition of pigment and/or fillers, mixing process, and the industrial equipment. Curing inhibition may occur when product is in contact with the following materials:  tin salts, amines, or sulfur.

Rheology:  The TCS Screen Printable Bases (TCS7612 Base, TCS7664Base, and TCS7671Base) are all shear thinning and can be blended to achieve the correct rheology needed for the best print quality per screen construction and industrial process. 
Durability:  Adhesion to the substrate will depend upon the industrial process, substrate, and curing conditions.  A preliminary test is recommended to determine optimum cure conditions per industrial process.

Clean-up:  When cleaning equipment and screens use sulfur free industrial grade mineral spirits or screen cleaners recommended for use with silicone inks to clean uncured silicone from equipment, mixing tools, and screens.  The best practice is to test selected cleaning materials prior to use to ensure they will not do damage.
