Dilutions of BLUESIL EMUL 4814 should be used as soon as possible after dilution, certainly within 24 hours during which delay repeated, and preferably continuous, gentle agitation is recommended. For treatment of leather, BLUESIL EMUL 4814 is typically diluted 1 part emulsion + 1-2 parts water.
BLUESIL EMUL 4814 may be applied using the spraying or coating methods typically used for the treatment of leather or artificial leather. It is recommended that the method of application be tested before use.
Thanks to the non-ionic nature BLUESIL EMUL 4814, it may be used in combination with other auxiliaries also used for top coating of leather. The compatibility of combinations of products should be tested before use. As example, for top coating of natural leather, BLUESIL EMUL 4814 could be used alone or formulated with 2-5% of polyurethane and/or nitrocellulose emulsions.
This is a typical finishing formulation for artificial leather:
BLUESIL EMUL 4814 10%-20%
BLUESIL SP 3304 (wetting agent) 0.5%-1%
Water (clean, preferably deioinised) to 100%
Spray apply; dry at 100℃; allow the treated leather to equilibrate for 24 hours prior to conducting hand-feel tests.
