SILCOLEASE ADD 382 is used as an additive, typically with a SILCOLEASE polymer system adapted to coating onto filmic substrates (for example SILCOLEASE POLY 330).
The formulation and processing guide for the SILCOLEASE polymer system to be used should be followed. The quantity of SILCOLEASE ADD 382 to add to 100 parts of each polymer system is indicated below.
Formulations with SILCOLEASE ADD 382 will also require crosslinker addition, and a precise formulation should be defined by your Bluestar Technical Service representative. This is a general guide only, as both the final application and formulation, including level of crosslinker and catalyst, will define the exact amount of SILCOLEASE ADD 382 needed.
Recommended level for SILCOLEASE ADD 382 is 1 to 3 parts per 100 parts solventless SILCOLEASE polymer to improve aged abrasion resistance.
To obtain the best curing and ensure the best long-term anchorage of the SILCOLEASE system, it is recommended that web temperatures of >140°C are used when using SILCOLEASE ADD 382. However SILCOLEASE ADD 382 can also be used at lower web temperatures.
To obtain the best immediate anchorage onto PET film, the SILCOLEASE formulation must be adapted as indicated in the individual polymer technical data sheet.
|SILCOLEASE ADD 382 may be stored at temperatures between -20°C / -4°F and 30°C / 86°F for up to 9 months from its date of manufacturing.||Please consult the Safety Data Sheet of this product.|
SILCOLEASE ADD 382
SILCOLEASE ADD 382 is a silicone based additive used with a reactive solventless silicone polymer system for POLYESTER (PET) FILM RELEASE COATING applications.
The use of this additive with an adapted SILCOLEASE polymer system allows:
- Long lasting anchorage on PET even in contact with aggressive adhesives.
- Long lasting anchorage on PET in high humidity conditions.
SILCOLEASE ADD 382 has been designed to preserve the long term anchorage of the release system when laminated against adhesives and reeled as coated film.
SILCOLEASE ADD 382 can offer long term ageing performance and has been particularly developed for untreated PET film. The additive is not designed to improve initial anchorage of the SILCOLEASE release coating formulation, which itself must be adapted for PET film (or other substrate).
SILCOLEASE ADD 382 may also be used in solvent-based silicone formulations.
SILCOLEASE ADD 382 may be used in a release coatings for:
- Self-adhesive labels (particularly clear on clear filmic labels)
- Other self-adhesive protectors (envelopes, personal care)
- Self-adhesive tapes
