SILCOLEASE UV POLY 204 must be used with a Cationic photoinitiator as a catalyst, for example SILCOLEASE UV CATA 211, and if necessary a release control additive, for example SILCOLEASE UV RCA 251 or RCA 200.
SILCOLEASE UV POLY 204 is commonly used as a viscosity modifier in conjunction with a second base polymer, for example SILCOLEASE UV POLY 200.
Recommended formulation, typical:
SILCOLEASE UV POLY 200 (or 215): 100 - x parts
SILCOLEASE UV POLY 204: x parts
SILCOLEASE UV CATA 211: 1 - 4 parts
Recommended bath preparation procedure:
The components should be added to the bath whilst constantly stirring in the following order: SILCOLEASE UV POLY 204, then SILCOLEASE UV CATA 211 and then if required the release control additive SILCOLEASE UV RCA 251 or RCA 200.
When used as a viscosity modifier SILCOLEASE UV POLY 204 should be mixed with the appropriate polymer (for example SILCOLEASE UV POLY 200 or SILCOLEASE UV POLY 215) and then SILCOLEASE UV CATA 211 and other components as indicated above.
|SILCOLEASE UV POLY 204 may be stored at temperatures between -20°C / -4°F and 30°C / 86°F for up to 24 months from its date of manufacturing.||Please consult the Safety Data Sheet of this product.|
SILCOLEASE UV POLY 204
SILCOLEASE UV POLY 204 is a 100% reactive release coating chemistry based on epoxy silicone copolymer technology. In combination with the patented Iodonium Borate UV photoinitiator technology it offers a highly reactive system with excellent anchorage on difficult low surface energy filmic substrates.
Whilst the polymer can be used alone it is most commonly used as a viscosity reduction additive for the polymers UV POLY 200 or UV POLY 215.
- Very low viscosity, UV system diluent
- Excellent anchorage, especially to untreated polyester films
- Very low extractable silicone
- Excellent subsequent adhesion
- Differential release (release level modifiable up or down)
A UV curing silicone release coating on films & papers-tight release base polymer for:
- Self adhesive labels
- Tapes (2 sided adhesive tapes)
- Industrial (bitumen, floor tiles)
- Hygiene (sanitary towels, diapers)
- Other self-adhesive protectors (envelopes, personal care)
