The mould surface must be clean and uncontaminated. Otherwise improper bonding of the coating will occur and its effectiveness will be reduced.
Apply a thin coat of LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU to the mould surface. This is easiest to be done by spray application. For best results use an air assisted spray pistol with a 0.5 to 1.2mm nozzle diameter.
LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU may also be applied by brushing or swabbing. Do not apply too much product as this would cause mould fouling. A thin film works best.
LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU may be applied to the cold mould before installation in the press. The water will evaporate and leave a clear coating on the surface. The final curing will then take place during heating of the mould to cure temperature.
Most often though LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU is applied directly to the hot mould surface once the mould mounted in the press and at curing temperature.

Water evaporation is quick and the product will cure on the hot mould surface to a semi-permanent clear coating.
If the direct application to the mould surface is not possible or convenient LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU can also be applied to the outside of a «green» tire.
Apply either by spraying, brushing or swabbing. Allow the coating to air dry at ambient on the tire’s outer surface.
During the first tire molding cycle the product will transfer to the mould surface and cure to a semi-permanent release film.


In any case, avoid excessive application of LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU. Mould release build-up can cause contamination and defects.
Reapply only when needed to maintain the necessary release properties. Typically LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU needs to be reapplied only between once per 8h shift or once per day depending on the conditions. When molding difficult tire tread designs, specifically in the case of passenger car winter tires having a high number of sipes, it may be necessary to apply twice per 8h shift.

LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU may be stored at temperatures between 2°C / 36°F and 30°C / 86°F for up to 9 months from its date of manufacturing.Please consult the Safety Data Sheet of this product.

LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU

LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU is a ready to use, solvent free, water based coating designed for use in tire moulds.
It is a blend of polymers that cure at typical molding temperatures to form a clear, tough, coating with a strong bond to the metal mould, possessing excellent release and lubrication properties towards rubber.


LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU helps keep moulds and vents clean, which reduces defects and downtime.


LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU is durable through multiple production cycles. The need for reapplication is dependent on factors such as: the rubber compound, tread design, curing time, curing temperature, application technique and press type.


LYNDCOAT MR 5100 RTU is designed for processes requiring low viscosity mould lubricants.
