Bath Preparation

Components should be well mixed before use. The blend before or after use should be stored in appropriate conditions: closed container, with a temperature preferably below +35°C (95°F) and not exposed to light. In such conditions, a blend may be stored during several months and re-used. 

 

 

Curing Conditions

Both Ultra Violet light and Electron Beam curing must be carried out under oxygen-deficient atmosphere (typically below 100 ppm and preferably below 50 ppm residual O2).

 

Consult Elkem Silicones for technical assistance in the selection of appropriate photo-initiators and conditions of irradiation (power, spectrum etc…) for UV or EB processing.

Formulations may be adapted and optimised thanks to UV POLY 100 series products or acrylate organic products.

 

In case of difficult substrates (BOPP, PE film, thermal paper …) level of SILCOLEASE UV ADD 151 may be increased to ensure good anchorage.

 

To reduce zippiness or to improve the stability of release, SILCOLEASE UV RCA 170 may be added to SILCOLEASE UV POLY 112.

 

Warning:

It is recommended not to store SILCOLEASE UV POLY 100 Series products and their blends under N2 atmosphere.

 

SILCOLEASE UV POLY 112 may be stored at a temperature below 35°C / 95°F for up to 12 months from its date of manufacturing.Please consult the Safety Data Sheet of this product.

SILCOLEASE UV POLY 112

SILCOLEASE UV POLY 112 and SILCOLEASE UV ADD 151 silicone system is a 100% reactive release coating chemistry based on acrylate-modified silicone copolymer technology.

Instantaneous and complete cure is achieved by simply passing the coating under UV light with photo-initiator SILCOLEASE UV CATA 102 or UV CATA 103 or by Electron Beam without photo-initiator.

 

SILCOLEASE UV POLY 112 can be formulated with products from Silcolease UV Poly 100 series.

 

SILCOLEASE UV POLY 112 is usually associated with the anchorage additive, SILCOLEASE UV ADD 151 or SILCOLEASE UV ADD 152 depending on the substrate.

 

SILCOLEASE UV ADD 151 is adapted to all substrates but preferentially to polyolefine based subsrates (PE, PP, PEK). SILCOLEASE UV ADD 152 is preferentially used on paper (Glassine, CCK, thermal paper...) or PET film.   

 

SILCOLEASE UV ADD 151 is generally used at a level of 20 to 30 parts and SILCOLEASE UV ADD 152 used at a level of 5-10 parts.

 

SILCOLEASE UV POLY 112 can be modified with SILCOLEASE UV RCA 170 to get a lower release force or with SILCOLEASE  UV POLY 111 to get tighter release.

 

SILCOLEASE UV POLY 112 and SILCOLEASE UV ADD 151 or SILCOLEASE UV ADD 152 blends give UV and EB silicone converters a level of stable premium release performance.
