James Hodulik, Marketing Intern
During my time working with Bluestar Silicones, the part I liked most about my internship was the fact that I was actually trusted to do real work that could potentially make an impact on the company rather than just doing "busy work". One of the most interesting tasks that I was a part of was writing a letter of intent for a potential sale with a customer. Prior to that time, I had absolutely no clue what even went into a letter of intent, but it was really cool to not only see a different side of the business that I didn't think I would get to see, but also to be a part of it and contribute.
I would describe Bluestar as a great company to work for. My experience was nothing but positive. I was surrounded by intelligent people who cared about their jobs, but also provided a great environment to work in.
I think one of the key things that I learned during my time with Bluestar was improving my ability to work independently. When given a task, I was able to complete it without having to repeatedly stop to be guided by others in the office. I learned to think for myself and decide my next steps which is something I think will prove invaluable in the future.
One of the biggest positives I experienced while working here was learning to acclimate to an office setting. This was my first desk job and since I plan on doing similar work in the future, getting used to this style of work sooner rather than later is a big positive. Another huge positive that I experienced during my time here was that I had the opportunity to see firsthand how a company of this size operates and to better understand all the work that is required for a business to thrive.
If you are considering applying to work at Bluestar Silicones and are given the opportunity to do so, you should absolutely take it. I was surrounded by many positive influences who carry themselves in a professional manner, but were also just overall good people who care about the company and each other. You could experience that too.
The best way to describe the work culture at Bluestar would be to call it a family. Everyone knows each other and genuinely cares about the people around them. It made working here an overall better experience because the office was a place you could look forward to coming into each day.
Overall, I thought my time at Bluestar Silicones was a great experience and I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work here.
